LABORATORY FOR SELECTION AND SEEDLING OF MEDICINAL PLANTS

TASKS OF THE LABORATORY FOR SELECTION AND SEEDLING OF MEDICINAL PLANTS:

- Conducting fundamental, applied and innovative research on the study of all priority medicinal plant species for the Republic of Uzbekistan, creating new varieties and hybrids using traditional and advanced selection methods, and establishing seed breeding.

- Preservation of the gene pool of bioresources of medicinal plants growing wild in the territory of the republic and their rational use.

- Development of methods for the cultivation of seed materials of rare and endangered species, methods for their reproduction and storage.

- Identification of introgressive processes associated with unique phenomena of sexual reproduction of natural populations of local and foreign flora.

- Participate in the examination of large fundamental, scientific and technical, production, socio-economic projects.

- Conducts fundamental, applied and innovative research, laboratory research and experimental work on the study of the selection and breeding of various medicinal plant species in accordance with the plan approved in the prescribed manner and state scientific and technical programs to solve sectoral and regional problems.

- Creation, mapping and cataloging of seed samples of various types of medicinal plants.

- Study of seasonal development rhythms of medicinal plant species, their reproduction, life forms.

- Research of valuable economic characteristics of rare and endangered species.
