LABORATORY OF MEDICINAL PLANTS INTRODUCTION AND AGROTECHNIQUES

TASKS OF THE LABORATORY OF MEDICINAL PLANTS INTRODUCTION AND AGROTECHNIQUES:

To conduct fundamental, applied and innovative research on the study, acclimatization, and establishment of cultural cultivation of all priority medicinal plant species for the Republic of Uzbekistan, taking into account specific soil and climatic conditions.

To study the areas of wild medicinal plants in the territory of the republic and identify their reserves, to preserve the gene pool of existing bioresources and to use them rationally.

To develop methods for breeding rare and endangered species and creating stable introduction populations.

To identify introgressive processes associated with unique phenomena of sexual reproduction in artificially obtained hybrids as a form of modeling processes in natural populations.

Participate in the examination of large fundamental, scientific-technical, production, socio-economic projects.

Conducts fundamental, applied and innovative research, laboratory research and experimental work on the introduction and agrotechnics of various medicinal plant species to solve sectoral and regional problems, in accordance with the plan approved in the prescribed manner and state scientific and technical programs.

Creation of herbarium specimens of various types of medicinal plants, mapping and cataloging soil and climatic conditions.

Study of ontogenesis, phenophase transition periods, seasonal development rhythms, their reproduction, life forms as criteria for the adaptation of medicinal plant species.

Study of signs-markers and adaptation methods of rare and endangered species, including adaptation mechanisms.
